The Tickets were formed in 1981 in New York City. Formed by Scott Wittenburg (who had recently immigrated to the City from southern Ohio), the band played several Manhattan showcase clubs and recorded a number of original songs (available at MP3.com) before finally disbanding in 1984. This "tongue in cheek" look at their musical adventures traces the rock and roll history of a band that gave it their all in their quest for recognition in the music industry. The Tickets were caught in the midst of an era of great change in the music scene - it was a time when bands playing showcase clubs (such as the Mudd Clubb and CBGB's) saw their aspirations dashed as these clubs featuring great original music gave way to the advent of the video star (MTV) and the general erosion of Manhattan's showcase club scene. So here is their story - click on your tickets and enjoy...
